Mothers Day

For mothers day gifts, the kids made tea towels with "hand" made flowers.

 They turned out so cute!!!
On Mothers day, we went to church (where they made gifts for the mom...see later in the post) and then headed out for Lunch and the Zoo & Museum with the family.  I didn't get any pictures at the restaurant for some reason but here are just a couple from the zoo.

That evening we curled up with a book and read.  I couldn't have been more happier!!
The next two pictures are what the kids made me in church.
This one is from Reanna:
My mom is 32.  She likes to Run.  The best things she cooks is spaghetti.  Her favorite food is Salad.  Her favorite thing to do to relax is take naps  (because that happens so often) :) She is really good at running.Thank you Lord for the gift of my mom.  She is special to me because She loves me and watches over me.

Thank you sissy. You made me feel special!!

From Hunter:
My mom is 31 years old.  She likes to play tag.  The best things she cooks is Mac and cheese.  Her favorite food is Taco.  Her favorite things to do to relax is watch a movie.  She is really good at cooking (gotta love this answer).  Thank you Lord for the gift of my mom.  She is special to me because She Loves me.

Thank You Buddy.
Then I also got this that Hunter made at school.  Complete with my picture :)
My mom's eyes are brown and her hair is brown.  My mom is 55 (changed to 32 after he came home and Reanna told him how old I am) :) My mom's favorite food is Taco.  My mom and I like to play tag together.  My mom is special because she loves me.

Hunter's teacher got a big kick out of my age :)

These gifts are so special to me. So proud to be the mother of my precious kiddos!! Mothers day is always a hard day. I am so happy being a mom and being with my older too but so sad as I want to have all my kiddos with me in my arms.  Miss the little guy so much.  Thank you kids for making mothers day wonderful!!

Also, So thankful for my mom.  Thank you for all you do for me and my family. And being there whenever we need you!!! We love you!!! Hope your day was special!!

And we are thankful and love all the other ladies in our family.

This was a bittersweet year, it was our last year to put one our kiddos on school float in our City's All schools Day Parade.  We have had 4 years (2 years, a break and then 2 more years) of building a preschool or Kindergarten float and this was it....The last one---Hunter's Kindergarten Float.  It has been a lot of work to build, organize, etc these floats, but it is all worth it to see the excitement in the kids' eyes when they get on or as you see them waving to the crowd.  Now we will sit back, relax and enjoy the parade for years to come.

The theme this year was "Bringing Friends Together", so our float was Movies in the Park Bring Friends Together.  In the summer, they do movies in our parks so we thought it would be fun to "bring all of that together" pun intended :)

Cade's 2nd parade, he didn't care for the loudness of the cars :)

Our school just recently had a tree carved into this eagle and the school put this in the parade with a Note saying thank you to PTO. PTO paid to have this carved out......I thought it was so neat (as I am the president of PTO) :) to recognize this.   The students loved watching the guy carve the eagles and it will go into the new area of our school once it is built!
She was taking it all in.

Tucker in the parade.  His FFA team won State and they will be heading to Nationals this fall.
Parade Selfie.  We are all about our selfies :)

A few pics from a 5k I ran a few weeks ago.  My workplace had a team so I joined.  I didn't do as well as I wanted but I did do it :) I "placed" 219 out of 779 participants.  I liked that it was a quick course, and very organized!

A friend of mine and former coworker! It was so good to see her!!

A few weeks ago Reanna participated in the State Destination Imagination Competition.  Her and her team competed in the project outreach challenge. Their project consisted of helping out teachers in our school with the lower grade students.  The team read to the younger kids, helped them with math and played with them.
So for competition they had to come up with a skit to explain to the judges what they did. They even had a cute little song :)

 Waiting for Results!
1st medal of the day was a special medal.  They received the State Destination Imagination spirit award.  This went to one team in the state and Reanna's team won the award!

Their next medal was for 3rd place in their category.

 Awesome Job Kiddos!

Then last week the kids from our district who placed 1st place at State or received the "special" award were recognized at the school board meeting.  Very special for these kiddos.

What an great program to have, it teaches them so many life skills to use in the future.  Very proud of them for their accompaniments!!
