A Day to Remember

Every year Wesley Hospital's bereavement team holds a ceremony for parents who have lost their babies (at Wesley).  They call it "A Day to Remember". It is a short ceremony with poems, songs and then they say your babies name and our family stands up.  The nurses/team bring you a red rose and a bookmark to remember your baby by.  I am so glad we attended this year and will probably make it an annual event.  This year it did fall on Kooper's death date.  Couldn't have been more perfect.

This is the courtyard where they add the current years brick below the growing evergreen.

This is the invite, program, bookmark and rose from that day.

This is one of the poem's read at the ceremony....
Say my Child's name--The mention of my child's name may bring tears to my eyes,
But it never fails to bring music to my ears.
If you are really my friend,
let me hear the music of his name!
It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul!

And remember that this is Pregnancy and infant loss month.  Light a candle tomorrow (October 15) evening at 7:00 pm in memory of all our babies we have lost.
