We finally made it out to the local pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins to decorate (More pics to come on that). When we arrived we found that our friends the Allen's were working the patch that day. So they helped us pick out the best ones :)
All the kids wanted to write Kooper's name in the pumpkins for our Name Gallery (more to come on that also). So here they are with their work!
Every year Wesley Hospital's bereavement team holds a ceremony for parents who have lost their babies (at Wesley). They call it "A Day to Remember". It is a short ceremony with poems, songs and then they say your babies name and our family stands up. The nurses/team bring you a red rose and a bookmark to remember your baby by. I am so glad we attended this year and will probably make it an annual event. This year it did fall on Kooper's death date. Couldn't have been more perfect.
This is the courtyard where they add the current years brick below the growing evergreen.
This is the invite, program, bookmark and rose from that day.
This is one of the poem's read at the ceremony....
Say my Child's name--The mention of my child's name may bring tears to my eyes, But it never fails to bring music to my ears. If you are really my friend, let me hear the music of his name! It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul! ~Author Unknown ~
And remember that this is Pregnancy and infant loss month. Light a candle tomorrow (October 15) evening at 7:00 pm in memory of all our babies we have lost.
It has been one year since my angel baby was born. We decided this year to celebrate his one year birthday in Heaven. We had a little party with some friends and family. It didn't go as planned as the weather ended up being COLD and rainy so we moved it inside.
Balloons (for the balloon release) and candy from the Eks.
White roses and balloons from the Woolley's.
Mom made a cake...we can't have a party without mom's white cake :)
Special made Kooper Memorial tattoos for the kids.
Getting ready for the balloon release with a special prayer from a special person.
The mum from my aunt and uncle
The next day we release balloons in the evening.
This is the neat picture frame my friend Cheri had made for us.
We recieved so many thoughts, prayers cards, etc that just helped us through this time.. We can't thank you enough for the support. Love you all!!
And also our friends started a "name gallery" for him for us :) Pictures to come soon
Kooper, I can't believe a year has passed, seems like only yesterday I was holding you looking at your sweet little face. We miss you more than I can even speak. You have taught us so much and have been a blessing to our lives. There is not a day that goes by that we don't think of you and are so glad you were placed in our lives--even though the time was short. Can't wait to be with you again someday. Love you little buddy!!!!
I am a working wife and mother of three-- A 10 year old girl Reanna and a 6 year old boy, Hunter and Kooper Riece--our Angel Baby. My husband and I have been married for 13 years. I am so thankful for him, he is good to me and a wonderful daddy! Thank you Steve for all you do! I enjoy spending all the time I can with my family. My kids are my life.
